Wintle (b. 1831 in Headington - Rector of Bere Ferrers (Beer-Ferris), Devon circa 1880), and his wife, Annie. Siblings : Frederick T, Ethel M (x2 !?), Garnet R & Mabel J. | I am Elizabeth Anne Wintle and live in Rotherham, S. Yorkshire where I used to work as a Speech & Language Therapist. I now do voluntary work for Samaritans and a local disability group. My brother, Christopher William Wintle and my mother Sybil Wintle live in Sheffield, but we were all born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, (home of the Crooked Spire), as was my father, Edward Robert Wintle who died in 1970. Our late grandfather claimed to be a "Bermondsey Boy", born within the sound of Bow Bells, who migrated to Chesterfield in his youth to work. He had 2 other children besides my father, Edna who married Captain Harry Stokes, and Kenneth Wintle who had a daughter Gillian. In retirement my grandfther moved to the South Coast, to Eastbourne, then Bexhill, where he lived with his daughter Edna. He had several siblings, the ones I can remember being, Alice, Fran, & Ethel, who all lived in the Dulwich area of London. Fascinating to find the Wintles have a website of their own. | My family (Mother, Father and two brothers) and I are originally from the Royal Forest of Dean where my great grandfather owned and managed two mines. I lived in Steam Mills and Cinderford until the age of 11 when my father became a priest in the Church of England and his work took us to the Midlands. I returned at the age of 19 to work at the Freeminer Brewery based in Steam Mills with Don Burgess. During this time I lived over the King's Head pub in Broad Street, Littledean. After approx. 18 months I returned to the Midlands and am now studying History at Stirling University in Scotland. | ||

| Hi my name is Pamela Mary (Wintle) Clarke. My parents Harry Alan and Hilda (Daniels) Wintle came from Solihull Birmingham. My Grandparents were Harry and Gertrude (Freeth) Wintle. Gt. Grandparents Henry Robert and Mary Emily (Barling) Wintle. My linage goes back to all the Wintles in Hope Mansell, Taynton, Blaisdon, Huntley Longhope, and all in Gloucestershire and the forest of dean. Very early months lived in Cowper Cottage, Elmley Castle before moving to 173 Farleigh Road, Pershore, Worcestershire. Father still lives in Evesham. Joined the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) 22/09/1964 and served for 12 years, leaving the service on 1207/1976. Married Berenice Ackers of Leigh Lancashire on 31/07/1976, still together now. Worked in many and varied jobs since leaving the services and now working as the Centre Manager of Kirkby Shopping Centre on Merseyside. |
