My name is Robert Lawrence Wintle and there are about 10 to 15 families in South Africa but i might be mistaken. I went into Lycos UK and found your Webpage which is an absolute feast because it is only lately that I started getting interested in family matters.
As I stated I am an very rare kind of Wintle because I am Afrikaans speaking. I stay in South Africa in the city next to or capital city. It is now called Centurion formally known as Verwoerdburg.
Another piece of info to one of the other persons queries is that I am also quite tall at approx. 6'4". It also looks to me that the name Robert is a well known name in the Wintle family as it appears in a lot of countries. My dad who passed away 3 and a half years ago was also Robert Lawrence and he has a sister whose name is Barbara and stays in Cape Town, South Africa. I have 2 sisters whose names are Dalene Lorraine (Smit) and Yvonne Lynette (Daffue). I am Married to Rita and we have 2 children by the names of Lourens now 21 years of age and Natacha now 16 and a half. As a lot of the Wintle's seem top be I am also working in the computer business as a SAP OPS Administrator. If it is possible for you to add this info to my name on your list as well I would appreciate it. By the way I am Robert Lawrence Wintle of Centurion, South Africa the first Wintle on your list in Africa and the world, I am quite proud of that achievement to be first. Hi I live in Cape Town and work in the office of a film production company in the city. My father's name was Leslie Gordon Wintle and his dad was John Arthur Wintle. He (my dad) also told me the story that 3 brothers came to SA from Wales - the same story as Robert Lawrence Wintle.My father had two brother's - one of them Arthur Peter John Wintle lived in Welkom in the Free State (South Africa) and the other one was Norman Wintle - who as I understand it - had two children - Robert and Barbara.
I am very excited to (at last) hear from other Wintle's in SA. I have been feeling as though I was dropped here by an alien as I could find no connection anywhere. Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. Best regards Cheryl Wintle

My father Michael Wintle is the son of the late Bo Wintle who was a WP rugby captain. He also coached the springbucks. My mom Judith was a Southey from Colesburg.
I married Geoffrey Mohr and we have five lovely kids. We live on a farm in Philippi. We run a stableyard as I have always loved horses. My husband is a pig farmer. Look at our site for additional info.
